One-Two Punch at The William Vale

I was recently invited to The William Vale’s two restaurants, Westlight & Leuca, both by Chef Andrew Carmellini of Noho Hospitality Group, for a one-two punch night filled with food, cocktails and viewz.

Leuca is a restaurant inspired by southern Italy serving up homemade pastas, wood-fired pizza and homey bites in an expansive space on the ground level of the hotel. I went in for their new Aperitivo Hour, which was seriously my kind of happy hour. Think: discounted personal pizzas with small bites like pickled cauliflower and warm marinated olives paired with a refreshing Aperol spritzes.

The menu is simple and a serious elevation from most happy hour deals in the area.

We ordered the trio of pickles, warm ricotta with honey and garlic and marinated olives, classic pizza, tomato + sausage pizza and fresh house made bread.

I then made my way upstairs to Westlight for Westlight Live, their live jazz and funk event from 7:30-10:30pm every Monday.

Our table faced the musicians, who stood against the floor-to-ceiling glass windowed walls that overlook Manhattan. It was pretty spectacular.

My favorite cocktail on the menu is the ‘Miel de Fuego’, which is exactly what you think it would be: mezcal, respado, hot honey, passionfruit and lemon. We ordered many rounds of those :)

The food off their ‘Bites’ menu were the perfect topper to our night and appetites.
